My Favorites from the Shop

As I’ve prepared to open The Silken Lattice, I’ve deeply enjoyed discovering and buying products that align with my vision for the brand.

Before I’d planned anything else about the store, I knew that the space would be warm, welcoming, and beautiful—and that it would be filled with white ceramics, glassware, and silver tones. As I worked on sourcing and buying items to match this vision, I coincidentally was also doing self-discovery exercises, including reading Becoming You by Suzy Welch. The exercises in the book told me something I’d always known but never admitted: prioritizing beautiful surroundings is a core part of who I am.

Embracing this part of myself has been transformative. Loving beautiful things isn’t frivolous or shallow, as I once believed it to be. It is about creating spaces that are comfortable, peaceful, and enjoyable. It is about honoring the creative spirit that flows through the artists and designers who make these things, and about embracing the beauty of nature and our human connection. And that is what The Silken Lattice has blossomed into—an ode to beauty.

My incredibly thoughtful buying process has led me to some magnificent designs and incredible brands, and I am so thrilled to share them with visitors to the store and followers of The Silken Lattice.

Here is a recap of some of my favorite items right now:

  1. Glass Carafe by Justine Menard. Justine’s work was on my mood board when The Silken Lattice was just an idea on a Pinterest board called “My Store.” This carafe is stunning. The asymmetrical design and delicate detail refract light so beautifully that I can (and have) stare at it for minutes on end.

  2. Orb Oils Fragrance Oil in River. Not only is the bottle beautiful, but this oil also feels rich and nourishing when applied. I have been dabbing a few drops on my chest and neck before spritzing with a vanilla body spray to create a more complex, layered scent. River is a deliciously warm scent that includes patchouli, one of my favorites. We carry three other scents at The Silken Lattice as well.

  3. Bialetti Venus Espresso Maker in Copper. I gasped when I unboxed this coffee maker. The design is sleek, shiny, and beautiful—a chic addition to any stovetop. I use a traditional Bialetti Moka pot to make coffee every morning, and I really love how the slow brew forces me to pause during my routine. Highly recommended for any coffee lover.

  4. Service Projects Mini Martini Glasses. This simple, unique design breathes new life into the martini glass. The smaller-than-usual size means the glass isn’t as shallow as a traditional martini glass, making it easier to drink from and giving it a distinct look. I’ve been drinking Spindrift out of one of these because I want one in my hand as often as possible.
